Proof of Income

Proof of income can be obtained by logging on to your My AmeriCorps portal at https://my.americorps.gov/mp/login.do. Select the "My Living Allowance" tab located on your homepage.  Your current and previous earning statements can be viewed under the "Earning Statements" section of the page.          

For VISTA's that are in transition and have not yet recieved thier first living stipend allotment, please contact VISTA Support at (800)942-2677 and request a proof of income.

Can I pursue graduate school/outside education while serving as a VISTA?

Simple answer: Yes. Under new AmeriCorps VISTA Education policy, you can pursue graduate school/outside education while serving as a VISTA. The key here is that a VISTA member still needs to serve in a full time capacity for the organization. The lack of clear parameters i.e. an upper limit of number of credits taken is not carte blanche for folks to be enrolled in VISTA and school simultaneously. Refer to VISTA Member Handbook: Chapter 2: Overview of Your Year in AmeriCorps VISTA

W-4 Employee's Withholding Allowance Form. Complete the W-4 Form to establish income tax withholding for your year of service.
W-5 Earned Income Credit Advance Payment Form. If you are eligible for an earned income tax credit, complete a W-5 Form (see Chapter 5).
